Finally !!!

Yesterday it was not raining, it was not cold and the humidity decreased from 88% to 65% !

After work we decided with Marquito to go for a walk, becuase it was simply impossible to stay at home. Suddenly Vigo doesn' t seem to be such a bad place :)

Way to work

Every day since I started to go to work here, I' ve wanted to share with you the best part of my daily 20 minutes walk to the office.

It is impossible to feel angry in the morning if you see something like this and in the afternoon it is always giving me some extra energy and new ideas what to do the rest of the day.
Especially when it is finally not raining here :)

Quality from Japan

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Masaaki Imai, the founder of Kaizen Institute yesterday in Vigo´s theather. Believe it or not, there was a conference in Vigo about Kaizen. However the interest of Galicians for Kaizen was probably not as the organizators expected - the theather (as the only place in Vigo which was considered big enough for all the people who should have been interested) was not even from the half full and it took quite a long time before first question was asked. Finally the conference was more about WHY to use Kaizen than HOW to implement it. Good tactic how to motivate people to buy Imai´s book or subscribe to the institute..I expected something more.

Luck

My luck showed up already one day after that disgusting thing happened. It was when I was talking with Diego and he promissed me a salary and planned a great job description for me.
Well, the problem is the "realization". He doesn´t have time even to explain to his co-workers what they should explain to me. So I tried to find some work myself. Obviously the organization is our weakness, so I started to plan how to organize the company and Diego seems to like it.
Unfortunately now we all are working on something very urgent but not interesting at all, and my main job is to copy paste all the information from the last fair before the server falls down. Meanwhile I am studying the accounting in Spanish because I should start to work on financial analytics soon.

Shit happens

While I was trying to clean a shit from my shoe into which I step yesterday, a bird made a shit on me. What do you think it means? A double good luck? I hope so!

Last week

Last week was kind of difficult for both of us. Marquito had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to go to Pontevedra to see patients after their night shift and after work he had classes till 8 p.m.
It means we saw each other early in the morning - and do not ask me for details because usually I do not remeber anything happening before 8 a.m. :) - and then in the evening trying to have at least 5 hours of sleep.
But we survived and during the rainy weekend we slept and ate a lot :)
This week it supposed to be much easier and we both looked forward to it, when at 5 a.m. this morning Marco' s cell rang and a nurse on the line tried to appologize for not telling him that there are 3 days more in Pontevedra.
Well what a surprise, good luck he doesn' t have classes this week. Hihi, just an exam...
An interesting story happened to me on Friday morning. As usually I arrived earlier to work. While I was watching a big spider on our office door thinking about good luck which it means, Diego arrived. He took me to his office, alternatively talking to me, his cell and checking some emails. However I was greatful for those breaks he was doing between each sentece because it gave me some time to fight with his accent. He asked me to follow him while making some other arrangements, I didn' t know what does it exactly mean so it surprised me a bit when we get inside of his car and went around the city. Shortly, while he was talking to me, he made few stops, few decisions, lot of phone calls, gave me some work and finally left me like 2 bloks out of the office and disappeared. Wow I was amazed, what a multitasking boss! Later I realized that I nod to finish some tasks till 2 p.m. the same day even if I was not really sure what it was exactly about.

First day in a new job

I hate first days at work, it is always the same. You do not know anyone, you do not know anything, not even the way to the bathroom :) And the worst thing is that all the people around you seem to enjoy this situation.
Well, I have a bad habit to join a company which is passing "bad moments" calling them "restructuralization", this month 3 girls are leaving, I wonder why. The only thing I know is that I have to share office with one of them and listen to her private phone calls (of course from company phone) all the time.

CEMS Internship in Vigo

So after app. 2 days of checking it looks like I found a suitable place where to make my CEMS internship. I did not want to wait for the next week to meet somebody from Renault and later spend another week waiting for final decision or maybe other interview and other weeks passing.. I was also curious if I can find something on my own, without Marquito´s help, so I sent emails probably to all companies operating in Vigo J.
And yesterday I got THE call from Diego Maraña -director of Quality-Nova Consultores. He invited me for my first interview here in Vigo, also my first real interview in Spanish, hard to admit, but I was really nervous J. It is incredible but he looks like Alex, hehe, of course he´s a bit darker, older and thinner (sorry Alex I can afford to be honest on my page)
I´m starting tomorrow and let´s see how it will be. So far it looks really great and I can´t wait to learn more. This week they are planning to show me some projects I will take care of. I worry only about one thing - why the hell they were asking how is my accounting J.
